Jackson Turner Art

I have worked with a variety of 2D mediums, including digital art, animation, video, and traditional painting. Regardless of the style or medium, there has always been an undeniable energy and dynamism to my work. A variety of different influences can be found within my work, from Matisse’s fauvist works to Francis Bacon’s expressionism, along with more modern, pop culture-based influences such as video games and digital art. Even if it is not obvious at a quick glance, the colors and energy that can be found in both of these artists’ works have played a big role in influencing my creative process.

Much like the artists of the Fauvist movement themselves, I believe color has great potential for emotional expression. The use of color is one of many different aspects I utilize in my work with the purpose of invoking emotion and engagement in viewers along with shape, structure, and dynamism.

This potential for emotional expression (no pun intended) is also evident in my influence from expressionist artists; whether it be from painterly brushstrokes to the invocation of emotions, the influence this movement has on me is undeniable.

I am constantly experimenting and finding new ways to grow and improve artistically, and while my work has changed a lot as a result, this eclecticism is a reflection of my passion for art and all the knowledge and experiences I have and will continue to develop.
